will have the opportunity to go on field trips, participate in small group activities,
and go swimming weekly. Campers will also participate in arts & crafts, sports,
science, and nature. Camp AYS will focus on a different theme each week. Camp

Weekly
Themes May 27th -"Adventures Around the World" (Decatur
Township only) This week we will be traveling around the world to see what
adventures and festivals different countries celebrate. Come join us as we "run
with bulls" in Spain or celebrate "carnival" in the tropics. June
2nd -"Going Green: Focus on Environment" Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Campers will see how their actions will affect the environment around them. Grab
a friend and lets work on cleaning up our communities. June
9th - "You, Me, & the Community" We know that we are all
one community. We will celebrate our differences and see how similar we are. We
will see how each of us can impact our community. Come join us as we impact our
community for the better! June
16th- "Seriously Science" This week is all about science, so
put on your goggles and lab coat and its off to the lab. This week will be filled
with experiments and challenges. Come join us as we see why science is really
"cool." June
23rd - "Kid Nation" We are giving it up to the kids. This week
they will take on the roles of leadership. They will make the decisions (with
adult help) and implement the actions. How will the kids rule the camp? Come and
see what it takes to manage a nation. June
30th - "Back to Basics" (Closed July 4th) We
will explore what life was like before cell phones and PSP. Explore new activities
and find out how they came to be. Come and find out what it is like to go back
to the past. Note:
Northwest Hendricks County camp will be closed the week of July 4th. July
7th - "Walk On the Wild Side" We're off on a safari. We will
set out to explore the lives, habitats, and conservation of animals around the
world. We'll keep the beat moving on our handmade African rhythm drums and have
fun learning and playing many new African games. Come join us as we explore the
"wild"erness! July
14th - "Camp AYS Goes Hollywood" We're off to Hollywood as our
"actors" light up the stage. This week will be filled with talent shows,
skits, and songs. Who will be the next Oscar winner? Come and judge for yourself.
July
21st - "Water Extravaganza" A typhoon is rumored to be in the
air this week at Camp AYS. Soak your friends, or get soaked, as you play a variety
of water inspired games. Come have a WET and crazy time! July
28th - "Amazing Sports" From the NFL to the NBA, we will have
a week of sports and games. We will learn and play "amazing" new games
and games of the past. Come join us for a week full of FUN!!
17th
Annual Camping Trip All children entering fourth grade or above
are eligible to attend. We will travel to Turkey Run State Park and spend day
one exploring trails and setting up camp. We will stay at Sugar Valley Cabins
across from Turkey Run. On day two we will go on a three mile canoe and tube ride
down Sugar Creek (weather permitting). We will leave around 10:30 a.m. day one
and will return by 5:30 p.m. on day two. Supper on day one, as well as breakfast
and lunch on day two, will be provided. The cost of the trip is $60.00 per camper.
The trip takes place during the week of July 7th. Some programs will be holding
a fundraiser to help reduce this cost. Camping

Swimming
and Field Trip Days Programs will have one swimming day per week.
Field trip days are planned by individual camps. Please see your camp director
for more information on these activities.
