Mission Statement
AYS enriches the learning and well-being of children in a safe, caring and fun environment outside of the school day.

History
Working with ButterfliesAYS (formerly At-Your-School Child Services) began with the vision of three concerned mothers who realized that working families often could not be with their children during the critical hours before and after school. The first after-school program began in 1980 at Indianapolis Public School #70 with fewer than 10 children. AYS has since emerged from that grassroots movement into a dynamic human services agency providing care for 1,500 children in 45 programs. Children in the programs reflect the demographics of the community. All economic levels are represented, including children who currently receive financial assistance from AYS or government vouchers.

Program Goals
1. To assist, through facilitated activities, the development of children's talents and skills.
2. To promote a positive self-concept in children and youth by providing a supportive environment.
3. To promote social growth in children by providing opportunities for sharing experiences with others.
4. To promote an appreciation of diversity through the selection of activities and materials.
