Maureen
Grey
Director of Program Operations
Maureen Grey is the Director of
Program Operations at AYS, Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social
Work from Ball State University.
For
19 years Maureen has worked for AYS in various positions of supervision and management.
Currently, Maureen is responsible for the daily operations of all AYS programs,
including the supervision of area supervisors and program enhancement directors.
She communicates regularly with school administrators, oversees the coordination
of winter, spring and summer program options, and chairs select committees that
examine programming and curriculum opportunities within the AYS community of schools.
For
the past six years Maureen has worked with the National AfterSchool Association
(NAA) serving as an accreditation endorser for afterschool programs nationwide.
She is one of four NAA endorsers on the AYS staff and several times a year makes
visits to other after-school programs to evaluate them for NAA accreditation.
Her knowledge of the NAA national standards has led AYS to have the only nationally
accredited programs in the state of Indiana. In addition, Maureen served on the
Indiana School Age Consortium board for 10 years and is an active member of the
AfterSchool Coalition of Indianapolis.
Maureen
is married to John Grey and is proud of her three children, Charlene, John and
Paul. Her daughter, a junior at Cathedral High School, was once a student in an
AYS program, then a volunteer earning credit for community service, and is now
on staff, working after school several days a week. AYS often has former students
who return to volunteer or to work, honing their skills as they move forward into
the workforce.
