O. Sison
Director of Finance
Romulo
O. Sison is Director of Finance of AYS, Inc. and reports directly to the President/CEO.
He joined AYS, Inc. in 1997. Assisted by three full-time and four part-time staff,
Sison is responsible for the Agency's day-to-day accounting operations and overall
financial activities. He also oversees and coordinates the Agency's payroll operations.
Originally
from the Philippines, Sison is a naturalized U.S. citizen. He holds a CPA title
under the authority of the Board of Accountancy of the Philippines, has a bachelor's
degree in accounting, a master's degree in business administration, and a master's
degree in economics education from Philippine schools, and an associate's degree
in applied science in accounting technology from IVY Tech State College in Indianapolis.
Sison
had worked for almost two years as Operations Manger for another not-for-profit
agency in Indiana, before he joined AYS, Inc. Back in his native country, Sison
had worked in the private sector as Cost Accountant for a manufacturing firm,
Comptroller for an advertising and movie production business, Chief accountant
for a private hospital, and Auditor for a CPA firm. In government, he takes pride
particularly in his twenty-three years of employment with the Central Bank of
the Philippines, where he had been involved in supervising and examining banks
and non-bank financial institutions, and had participated in formulating central
banking regulations and monetary policies. And, in order to keep himself abreast
of developments in the academic world, Sison taught college courses in accounting,
banking, economics, finance, management and marketing.
Because
of his training and experience in central banking, Sison had the opportunity to
work for three years with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington,
D.C., assigned as IMF Advisor on Banking Operations to the Banking Board of the
then newly independent nation of the Federated States of Micronesia, a former
trust territory of the United States.
Sison
is ex officio member of the AYS Cabinet composed of the President/CEO and the
various Division Chairs. The Cabinet, which meets regularly once a week, is responsible
in formulating, reviewing and implementing the Agency's policies and general operating
procedures.
