AYS
Programs Deliver Gloves, Scarves and Pillows to Local Charities
Before
Christmas, the AYS program at IPS #91 collected money for gloves and made scarves,
while the program at Harcourt Elementary made pillows. On December 22, AYS staff
members delivered a total of 150 sets of gloves and scarves and 45 pillows to
the Julian Center and Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis and the Attic Window in
Anderson.
Many
AYS programs do community service projects throughout the year, in order to give
the students an early appreciation of philanthropy. Materials for the project
were left over from a blanket-making craft that the students participated in earlier
in the semester. The gloves were purchased at a discount from A & K Distributors.
