Free Music Classes at AYS John Strange AYS is pleased to offer "Strange Rhythms" percussion classes for children in our John Strange Elementary program. Classes will be every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM and will be taught by master percussionist Sir Lawrence Clark. As a percussionist, educator and legendary Indiana Avenue Jazz Artist Lawrence has influenced countless youth in central Indiana. He serves as Artist in Residence for Indianapolis Public Schools and is the Artistic Director and Instructor for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Community Drum Ensemble at Flanner House Elementary School. He has been teaching percussion classes with AYS since 2001. Classes begin September 12 and class size is limited. We encourage children to commit to 20 classes at sign-up.
