AYS
Receives SBC Excelerator Grant
On
November 8, AYS received an SBC 2005 Excelerator grant from the SBC Foundation.
The $24,000 grant will go towards a technology upgrade and innovation.
In
an effort to streamline AYS payment collection, registration, and attendance,
AYS began a "Hub" system for data entry. AYS programs span four counties,
making communication and collection difficult. Due to the SBC grant, AYS will
be able to purchase a new server, additional computers, printers, software, and
other technology needed to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of AYS clients.
The improved hubs will also make data collection and entry more time efficient
for program staff, so they can spend more time on quality programming for AYS
students, and provide satellite training opportunities for staff.
SBC
Excelerator grants were distributed to 15 Indianapolis non-profit agencies.
