Q: What has been the most rewarding aspect of working with AYS?
A: Interacting with the kids and making a difference. I feel like I can connect with them on a deeper level. I want to be purposeful in my work. I really enjoy this role I have. I want to make sure this experience is worth the kids’ while.
Q: What is the most memorable AYS story from your time here?
A: I work at two different sites. When I leave one school to go to the other, the kids don’t want me to leave. They always greet me with hugs.
Q: Why are the kids special?
A: I look at these kids like they are my own babies. It’s not only about directing a program, but it’s about getting hands-on experiences with these kids.
