Chris Burris
Youth Development Leader
What experience do you have working with children?
After working as a Program Assistant for Goodwill Industries, in 2018, I became a Youth Development Assistant at AYS Butler Lab School 60. In my free time I serve at Pathway Missionary Baptist Church by singing in the choir, serving at the Food Pantry, and helping with the Youth Ministry. I have also babysat for my nieces and nephews over the years. I am honored to move into the role of Youth Development Leader at AYS CFI School 27!
What are some fun facts about you, or favorite things you like to do?
I’m 33 years old, unmarried, and have no children, but I have a big heart for kids! I was born and raised in the Butler Tarkington neighborhood in Indianapolis. I went to IPS Schools, including IPS #60 and Broad Ripple High School. I received my diploma from The Excel Center in 2012. One of my favorite things to do is take walks!
Why do you like working with kids?
We both keep each other going by having fun and learning something new every day! I’m inspired by the kindness and by all I’ve learned so far from the children and their parents. I’m looking forward to helping the children benefit from AYS services into the future.
