What is your educational background?
I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Food Business with a minor in Entrepreneurship. While at IU, I also attended Ivy Tech Community College, where I obtained my associate’s degree in Culinary Arts.
What professional experience do you have?
I owned and operated a catering business in Shelbyville, Indiana for over 5 years. When I wasn’t in the kitchen, I was working with children in many different spaces from leading a garden program for children within a women’s shelter, teaching cooking classes to underserved youth, and working as an assistant in life skills and general education classrooms.
What are some fun facts about you, or favorite things you like to do?
I co-own a Christian hospitality brand and pretzel company with my sister called Yellow House Vibes and Yellow House Pretzels, respectively. The business keeps me busy but the work is rewarding and is a great creative outlet for me! I also really enjoy having cookouts and bonfires with my family and friends, traveling, serving my local community, and going to my nieces’ and nephews’ sporting events!
